1. What am I working on?
Well, it's time to confess! I'm an ADHD quilter! I am working on lots of stuff! LOL
I have projects spread around my quilting room and I just move from one to the next!
These projects are on my design wall.
My machine was in for servicing, so I have little projects cut and lined up to go!
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
This is a hard question to answer! My work is inspired by the great work of other much better quilters than myself. I guess I have to say that I put my own spin on my quilts with the colors I choose. I'm a nature lover so my quilts tend to be earth colors. I LOVE green and brown with a splash of red!
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I was taught to sew by my Aunt Oapie.
She was a real inspiration! She could make her own patterns, take a coats apart and remake, and even taught herself to reupholster furniture!
She taught me to love sewing too! Sewing to me is the process of making something filled with love and accomplishment. I love to gift the things I sew hoping to spread some love to others.
Quilting is relaxing, fun, thrilling, and some times a problem that needs solving!
4. How does my writing/creating process work?
Well, first I have to still the ideas floating in my head. LOL
I shop for fabric by projects. I'm not a real fabric stash builder, I stash projects.
Here's small project I will finish today! (I hope!)
And here's another waiting to be cut!
I try to have different projects going at different stages. I always have a hand project in case we are traveling, I have a BIG project going, and then I have little projects going so I can feel the accomplishment of a finish as my big projects sometimes are several years in the works!
