I spent the morning and early afternoon quilting as it is a very cold day. We are having the last subzero temperatures of the winter, I hope. 

I was behind on my Layer Cake Quilt Along blocks. I got these three finished and another one cut. 

I sure wish I could find some light cream Bella Solid to tone down the patterns of this fabric, but haven't been able to find just the right color yet. 

Birdsong is Finished!

I worked on the Birdsong quilt this evening and finished up the borders. Now the top is finished. I'm excited about this completion. I am also really happy with the choice of black to go along with the red borders. The pattern's example used tan fabric, but I was looking for a stronger contrast. I think the black accomplished that. Now it's off to the quilter!

My Sue Spargo Class Kit

For my birthday I am treating myself to a day off and a quilting workshop given by Sue Spargo, one of my favorite quilters.

I got the kit for the class in the mail with a homework assignment. Well, I have my homework finished! Here it is! I'm ready for the class!

The only trouble is the class isn't for 3 more weeks!

The Last Birdsong Block

It's a 3 day weekend for me and I finished the last Birdsong block.

I'm excited to have this done. Now I will work on the half triangle squares that are set in the borders. Maybe I will have a picture of the finished top by the end of the weekend. It snowed again this afternoon, so it is a real possibility.

Winter Flower

Last year, my class grew an amaryllis flower. I kept it going over the summer. This winter it started to grow again.

Another Birdsong Finish

I finished another long block for my birdsong quilt by Jan Patek. I have one more to go and then I will need to do all of the sashing and borders. it has been a really fun quilt to work on.

I really should call it the NCIS quilt as I usually work on it during an NCIS episode. Love that show!

I have the last block prepped and ready to start!
